Title: ESRI Architect

Duration: 3-6 Months

Location: Remote/Plano, TX

Rate: $60/hr - $70/hr

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled GIS Infrastructure Engineer or ArcGIS Server Architect to troubleshoot, optimize, and enhance the performance of our ArcGIS Enterprise deployment. This role is responsible for addressing high CPU and memory usage issues, investigating crashing ArcSOC instances, and determining whether re-architecture or configuration optimization is required to support current and future workloads effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve ArcGIS Server performance issues, including high CPU/memory usage, excessive ArcSOC instances, and service crashes.
• Analyze server logs and identify causes of errors such as java.lang.OutOfMemoryError and other heap size or instance management issues.
• Optimize ArcGIS Server settings , including:
  • Adjusting the javaHeapSize for services
  • Evaluating shared vs dedicated instance configurations
  • Reducing or consolidating unnecessary services
• Evaluate the architecture to determine if restructuring or upgrading infrastructure is required to handle current publishing needs.
• Recommend best practices for ArcSOC management , service publishing, and load balancing.
• Investigate and mitigate the impact of recent updates (e.g., ESRI Server auto-updates) that may have triggered performance degradation.
• Collaborate with GIS analysts, developers, and IT teams to ensure the stability and scalability of GIS services.
• Document all findings, configurations, and architectural recommendations.
