Job Responsibilities Under the direct supervision of the Assistant Agent In Charge, the Jurisdictional Agent, is responsible for the service of warrants for offenders who are arrested and placed in a detention center, for all documentation related to the service of warrants and removal from NCIC, and for general office operations duty coverage as assigned. Monitors e-mail for NCIC "hits" and reviews detention centers' databases or websites to determine service status of violation of probation warrants. Places appropriate documentation in OMS regarding the status of the warrant, actions taken to ensure service of warrant and removal from NCIC, and case assignment to Agent staff.
Minimum and Additional Requirements A bachelor's degree with at least 15 semester hours in social or behavioral science courses and experience in probation and parole work. An associate's degree and two (2) years of military or certified law enforcement experience (to include Class 1 or Offender Supervision Specialist experience) may be substituted; or a high school diploma and four (4) years of military or certified law enforcement experience (to include Class 1 or Offender Supervision Specialist experience) may be substituted. Three years of work experience in law enforcement, C-1 Certification by the Law Enforcement Training Council in accordance with 23-23-40 of the Code of Laws of South Carolina 1976. Applicant who have a break in service of more than one year but less than three years and qualify for special recertifications according to SCCJA Regulation 37-006 (D) (3) will be considered.
Preferred Qualifications A bachelor's degree with at least 15 semester hours in social or behavioral science courses; an associate's degree and two (2) years of military or certified law enforcement experience (to include Class 1 or Offender Supervision Specialist experience) may be substituted; or a high school diploma and four (4) years of military or certified law enforcement experience (to include Class 1 or Offender Supervision Specialist experience) may be substituted. Experience in probation and parole work or 3 years of work experience in law enforcement.
