Tasting Room Manager to lead the team in our Bend, OR brewery tasting room!
The
Tasting Room Manager oversees all aspects of service and product quality in the tasting room, with the goal of Blowing Our Customers Minds. This position ensures that the Tasting Room is aligned with overall company strategy as well as striving for profitability and exceeding guests' expectations. The Tasting Room Manager is responsible for creating and carrying out strategic plans related to the Tasting Room, delivering fantastic guest service and achieving desired business goals. Additionally, whenever relevant, supports in the management of the tours operation. This position will directly oversee individuals.
Core Duties and Responsibilities: - Leads the daily activities of the Tasting Room to strive to achieve or exceed revenue goals and ensure the highest levels of customer service
- Leads Deschutes Brewery tasting room team, including training, assigning and directing work, evaluating performance, providing regular feedback, disciplining as necessary, and addressing team concerns
- Responsible for managing the Tasting Room budget
- Understands the financials of the Tasting Room and executes on strategies to achieve sales, product, and labor cost goals
- Responsible for accurate product inventories and management of the Point of Sale (POS) system
- Initiates programs to increase profitability and drive sales and cash flow at the Tasting Room
- Assists in concepting and launching new initiatives and events in the Deschutes Brewery internal event spaces (i.e. The Mountain Room) and at the Deschutes Beer Garden
- Oversees inventory management including a varied beer menu and Deschutes Brewery merchandise

Requirements of the Position: - Valid alcohol service certificates, food handlers permits and all other locally required certifications
- Working knowledge of software programs such as Microsoft Office including Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Strong communication skills
Preferred Education, Experience & Attributes: - Advanced management training (interviewing, coaching, conflict management, etc.)
- Cicerone or similar beer industry training
