Responsibilities

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Infrastructure Cloud Engineer to lead the design, deployment, and management of cloud infrastructure solutions, in collaboration with the enterprise architecture team. This role requires deep expertise in cloud architecture, automation, networking, and security. The ideal candidate will have experience building scalable, secure, and cost-efficient cloud environments in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, along with a strong background in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and DevOps practices. As a senior-level engineer, you will play a key role in defining cloud strategy, implementing solutions, and ensuring operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Cloud Infrastructure Architecture & Implementation

  • In collaboration with the enterprise architecture team, lead the design and implementation of secure, scalable, and high-performing cloud infrastructure solutions.
  • Develop best practices for cloud architecture, networking, and security frameworks.
  • Oversee infrastructure modernization, cloud migrations, and hybrid/multi-cloud deployments.

Automation & Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

  • Design and implement Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM templates) to automate cloud provisioning.
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure deployment and updates.
  • Automate cloud operations, including monitoring, scaling, and compliance enforcement.

Security, Compliance & Governance

  • Define and enforce cloud security policies, including IAM, encryption, and threat detection.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards (SOC 2, ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR, HIPAA).
  • Conduct risk assessments, implement security controls, and respond to security incidents.

Performance Optimization & Cost Management

  • Continuously monitor, analyze, and optimize cloud infrastructure for performance and cost efficiency.
  • Implement cloud cost management strategies and FinOps best practices.
  • Establish observability, logging, and monitoring frameworks using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, or Datadog.

Collaboration, Leadership & Mentorship

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including DevOps, security, operations, and software engineering, to improve cloud infrastructure.
  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) and provide guidance on cloud best practices.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to training and upskilling initiatives, while also providing oversight of the daily cloud operations team.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in cloud engineering, infrastructure automation, and operations.
  • Expertise in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, with experience in designing and managing large-scale cloud environments.
  • Azure experience is strongly preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM templates).
  • Advanced scripting and automation skills (Python, Bash, PowerShell, Go, or equivalent).
  • Deep understanding of cloud networking (VPC, VPN, subnets, load balancers, firewalls).
  • Experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes, ECS, AKS, GKE).
  • Hands-on knowledge of cloud security, IAM, encryption, and threat management.
  • Experience implementing observability, logging, and monitoring solutions.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in complex cloud environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Cloud certifications (AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional, AWS Certified Security – Specialty, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AZ-500: Azure Security Engineer, Google Cloud Professional Architect, Google Cybersecurity Professional Certificate, CCSP — Certified Cloud Security Professional, Terraform Certified Associate).
  • Experience with serverless in cloud.
  • Experience with multi-cloud or hybrid cloud architectures.
  • Knowledge of Zero Trust security models and service mesh technologies.
  • Background in cloud cost optimization and FinOps strategies.
  • Experience working in regulated industries (finance, healthcare, government).
