Vaco is actively seeking a
Senior Scrum Master / Kanban Flow Manager for a direct-hire opportunity to join an extremely stable and internationally respected financial services firm in St. Louis. (Please Note: No form of employment arrangement or sponsorship is available)
Position Summary The primary responsibility of this blended role is to support an enterprise AWS cloud implementation including associated infrastructure, integration, data, and development Epics in a SAFe environment.
This role requires strong interpersonal skills coupled with a passion for providing "Leadership Without Authority" within a dynamic wealth management environment. A solid understanding of both Scrum and Kanban is required, previous AWS or Azure experience is a plus.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead multiple agile teams through the Scrum process, ensuring successful delivery of critical, customer-facing projects.
- Guide teams in the effective use of Kanban principles to visualize work, limit WIP (Work in Progress), and optimize flow to ensure continuous delivery and incremental improvement in service delivery.
- Guide agile / SAFe practices to facilitate the incremental and adaptive delivery of products within teams.
- Promote and facilitate the adoption of key engineering practices such as Continuous Integration, Test Driven Development, and other methodologies to improve the quality and reliability of deliverables.
- Leverage Kanban flow-based metrics such as cumulative flow diagrams, cycle time, and throughput to facilitate data-driven retrospectives across technology teams.
- Monitor and guide the team's progress toward their goals and commitments by improving quality, predictability, flow, and velocity.
- Facilitate Scrum ceremonies, including daily standups, backlog refinement, sprint planning, team demos, and retrospectives.
- Partner with Product Owner(s) to strengthen their effectiveness, facilitate cross-functional collaboration, and drive alignment across teams.
Qualifications:
- Strong experience as a Scrum Master with a proven track record of working in agile / SAFe environments.
- Excellent understanding and experience in implementing agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, etc.).
- Extremely strong communication, facilitation, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM, or equivalent) a plus.
- Familiarity with engineering best practices, such as CI/CD, Test-Driven Development (TDD), and DevOps principles.
- Prefer prior experience in a data-intensive and regulated environment, preferably within finance, investment, or wealth management sectors.
