Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Safely operate the screed to level asphalt or concrete, ensuring specified surface quality and paving depth.
• Read grade stakes and collaborate with grade checkers, lasers, or GPS to maintain accurate grading.
• Communicate effectively with other crew members using hand signals and verbal communication to coordinate work and ensure safety.
• Keep equipment clean and prepare it for transport on a flatbed when necessary.
• Perform daily inspections and maintenance to ensure the machine is in safe, proper working order, including fluid checks and proper lubrication.
• Notify mechanics when equipment requires maintenance or repair.
• Maintain orderliness, cleanliness, and safety at the job site.
• Follow the Supervisor's instructions closely.

Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Understand basic screed mechanics.
• CDL Class A commercial license required.
• Comprehend and adhere to all safety regulations.
• Follow Personal Protection Equipment requirements.
• Maintain an unwavering focus on safety.
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations.
• Willingness to travel throughout Central and Western Minnesota, Northern Iowa, and Eastern Dakotas.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

• Ability to walk, bend, kneel, lift, stretch, and sit.
• Work outside in all weather conditions.
• Effectively handle lifting objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Regularly work extended or overtime hours outdoors in various weather conditions at all project locations.
• Travel is required.
