Job Description

Zooba is now hiring Servers for our Nolita restaurant.

We are introducing an expanded menu of the tastes of Egypt to Manhattan with full dine-in service. Experience serving Egyptian, Middle Eastern or Mediterranean cuisine in a restaurant setting is a plus.

The Job Details

• Master knowledge of all Zooba food and beverage menu items, all ingredients and preparations, and the ability to respond to guest preferences and needs.
• Provide table service and jump in where needed on the floor to always ensure exceptional service.
• Guide guests through food and beverage selection by going through the menu; offering beverages including wine and beer and suggesting Zooba favorites.
• Show curiosity and love for Zooba’s unique take on Egyptian cuisine and an eagerness to continue to learn and grow.
• Consistently follow Zooba’s steps of service with efficiency and a positive attitude, while maintaining a sense of urgency throughout service.
• Ensure the dining room is ready for service including table settings, prepping stations, beverage station, and bussing areas during the hours of operation.
• Transmit orders to kitchen by inputting guests’ choices; keep kitchen staff informed of any special dietary needs and special requests.
• Take care of guest needs, ensuring constant communication with the service team, managers, and the kitchen during service; handle any guest complaints or concerns.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and appearance throughout all areas of the restaurant both before, during and after service.
• Always adhere to Zooba’s safety policies, alcoholic beverage service rules, and Department of Health guidelines. 
• Follow all cash handling policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Experience as a server in a fast-paced casual dining restaurant
• Knowledge of service standards and steps of service
• Able to service customer needs and questions 
• Able to stay calm and productive under pressure
• English fluency with strong communication skills
• NYC DOH food protection certificate a plus
• Completion of high school diploma
• Able to stand for an 8-hour shift and lift 50 lbs.
• Flexible schedule required (morning, evening and weekend shifts)
