JOB DESCRIPTION

Purpose and scope

The Plant Manager is responsible for ensuring NASL Operations meets safety, environmental, customer quality, on-time and vendor management standards, and internal corporate standards. Directs all facets of manufacturing operations, maximizes machine utilization, facilities, and personnel to obtain maximum efficiency, meet performance objectives and control significant manufacturing projects. Responsible for ensuring employees have all necessary resources to effectively complete their work directives and resolve issues threatening productivity and safety.

Responsibilities

•Create and maintain a progressive and safe work environment for employees.

•Compliance with all local and OSHA safety and environmental standards.

•Support company policies and corporate strategic goals.

•Directs supervisors and leads to ensure production staff is used efficiently.

•Ensure employees understand their roles and expectations in the organizational structure.

•Maintain KPIs to ensure achievement of EHS, Customer, Productivity, and People strategic goals are met.

•Ensure employees understand and meet their personal goals/standards for production.

•Develop and implement corrective action plans if production output is not meeting goals and/or quality standards.

•Creates a culture and environment of continuous improvement by incorporating LEAN strategies throughout the manufacturing organization.

•Work with engineering and management to set up new manufacturing processes to meet strategic timelines.

•Manage inventory - Ensure appropriate inventory levels are always maintained.

•Develop programs and policies to reduce operational expenses.

•Coordinates with the General Manager to facilitate proactive machine preventive maintenance and facility/building repairs (including keeping the facility/building in compliance with OSHA and Fire Code regulations.

•Oversee employee training on equipment and machinery.

•Assist in annual budget development. Maintain relevant KPIs for budget analysis and achieve agreed upon financial results.

•Work with Human Resources and GM to select candidates for new production and supervisory positions.

•Create, develop, and cost justify new production positions, and provide input to Human Resources regarding hiring decisions.

•Work with Human Resources to direct safety initiatives and enforce safety procedures and policies.

•Resolve employee issues and ensure compliance with corporate policy.

•Perform employee evaluations and issue corrective actions to staff as needed.

•Maintain good housekeeping in the plant and the warehouse and ensure policies are followed.

•Schedule employee time-off requests and maintain adequate staff to compensate for employees that have been excused from work and submit attendance records to Human Resources.

Requirements

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience

•Bachelor's Degree required.

•Communicate clearly using written, verbal, and electronic communication.

•5+ years working in related field of production in a managerial role.

•Schedule and direct employees to perform efficiently and cost-effectively.

•Motivate and engage employees to achieve goals.

•Functional knowledge of the production equipment specific to the industry and organization.

•Ability to read and understand technical information as it relates to the operation of the business.

•Provide process improvement, product quality improvement and customer service to clients.

•Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing, quality management, and visual management required.

•Understanding of how to develop, communicate, and adhere to production forecasts and schedules.

•Functional knowledge of software applications (specifically Epicor (ERP) and Office 365 applications - (Word, Excel, PowerPoints, Teams, etc.).

•Excellent written and verbal communication skills - ability to relate to a diverse workforce in all levels of the organization.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

The Plant Manager reports to the General Manager. All employees within the plant, including any supervisors responsible for site operations, report to the Plant Manager.

Small plant - 10 as of 7/17/2024 and growing

2 shifts, adding machines as we go.
