Job Description

ProRank is a boutique search firm and we are working with a client to help them fill a position for a skilled Physician Assistant to join their Pain Management team in Valparaiso . This position is ideal for a dedicated provider with a passion for delivering high-quality care to patients in need of pain management services.

Position Type : PRN, Days (8:00 am - 4:30 pm)

FTE : 0.1 (32 hours per pay period)

Specialty : Pain Management

Key Responsibilities :

  • Assist in diagnosing, treating, and managing patients with pain-related conditions.
  • Work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to create comprehensive care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Perform assessments, prescribe treatments, and educate patients about pain management strategies.
  • Administer appropriate medical care, ensuring safety and effectiveness in treatment protocols.
  • Contribute to a collaborative, patient-focused environment, providing compassionate care.

Education/Experience Requirements :

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Completion of an Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) approved program.
  • Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Active licensure to practice as a Physician Assistant in the State of Indiana.
  • Board Certification required for hospital privileges.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and/or Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certification required for those working in surgery.
  • 1-2 years of experience as a Physician Assistant, preferably in pain management or a related field.

  • Excellent communication skills, able to interact effectively with physicians, patients, families, and other medical staff.
  • Strong leadership, organization, and delegation abilities.
  • Ability to apply clinical knowledge and adjust methods and techniques based on patient needs.
  • Expertise in managing pain, administering medications, and understanding the impact of those medications on patients.
  • Ability to react calmly and efficiently in emergency situations.
  • Strong time management skills, able to balance patient care and charting duties.
