Job Description

Upscale French Restaurant Group is looking to hire a professional and experienced Pastry Sous Chef to assist Executive Pastry Chef as directed and oversee the restaurant’s pastry kitche at our Palm Beach location .  

  Primary responsibilities:  

• Oversees and manages the operation of the kitchen’s staff, including direct management and supervision of all pastry cooks .  

• Ensures that all pastry operations meet and exceed the highest quality standards .  

• Hires, trains, motivates, and coaches staff as they provide attentive, efficient service to customers, assesses staff performance and provides helpful feedback and training opportunities .  

• Keeps track of inventory and places orders according to demand, keeping in mind the season and number of reservations .  

• Supports safe work habits and a safe working environment .  

• Works well as part of a team and multitasks in discrete time periods .  

• Assists other staff in their job functions to ensure optimum service to guests and perform other job-related duties as assigned .  

Skills and qualifications:  

• Must have at least two years of work experience in a pastry m anagement position or equivalent position in a fine dining restaurant  

• A bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience is required .  

• Hold a current Food Handler’s license or must obtain within a month of hire .  

• Microsoft Office Suite proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook) .

Compensation Details: Salary $60,000-$70,000
