Position Overview: Food Rescue Truck Drivers will assist in picking up surplus, soon-to-expire, or other donated food items from local grocery stores, retailers, restaurants, and wholesalers. Drivers will primarily do deliveries in our 26-foot refrigerated straight truck where pallets of food donations are loaded via a loading dock and it is the driver's responsibility to safely unload the product at our partnered community organizations. Drivers may be offered additional hours completing deliveries and are required to follow food safety protocols and deliver food to the designated community partner. Drivers will use the provided scales and our custom app to weigh, categorize and record each donation within the truck. As a SE Food Rescue Truck Driver, you will be a regular face that our partners welcome and rely on!

Responsibilities:

• Food Rescue Box Truck Drivers will assist in picking up surplus, soon-to-expire, or other donated food items from local grocery stores, retailers, restaurants, and wholesalers. 
• Drivers will primarily do deliveries in our 26-foot refrigerated straight truck where pallets of food donations are loaded via a loading dock and it is the driver's responsibility to safely load and unload the product using the truck's lift gate and pallet jack at our partnered community organizations. 
• Experience using forklifts is preferred. Secondly, Drivers may be subject to more hours completing deliveries in the Sharing Excess Food Rescue Van by following food safety protocols and delivering food to a designated community partner. 
• Drivers will use provided scales and our custom app to weigh, categorize, and record each donation within the truck.
• Exceptional customer service skills, as you will be the face and representative of our organization in the field.
• Occasional support of building and wrapping pallets that will need to be delivered by the truck driver.

Requirements:

• Must be 18 years or older
• Must have a valid CDL license and clean MVR 
• Must be able to pass DOT physical and drug screening 
• 1+ years of commercial driving experience
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
• Good vision, hearing, and attention to detail
• Strong interpersonal communication
• Excellent customer service
• Great communication skills
• Time management skills
• Ability to follow food safety and preservation protocols 

Schedule : 3 days per week, 8am-3pm. Potential for full-time employment in the future

Compensation: $22 per hour
