Job Description

Overview:

The Internal Communications Specialist is responsible for supporting the development and execution of effective internal communications strategies, plans, and deliverables that drive employee engagement and the adoption of large-scale business priorities. You will partner closely with cross-functional teams across NFI to ensure our vision, organizational strategy, and work culture resonate with our diverse employee base.

With a core-writing ability, you will help create a variety of internal content and messaging, including company-wide email campaigns, newsletters, leadership presentations, crisis communications, and more. As an Internal Communications Specialist, you should have impeccable written and verbal communication skills and be able to create engaging content for NFI-focused internal channels and range of internal audiences. The position reports to the Communications

Responsibilities:
  • Own and independently develop and execute multiple projects simultaneously by building project plans that ensure progress and effective delivery
  • Build relationships and collaborate with key stakeholders to assess, identify, and translate specific goals and challenges into communications initiatives and plans
  • Coordinate projects and influence stakeholders to obtain internal feedbackand approvals. Implement feedback in future projects
  • Write a wide variety of topics and ensure consistency in brand and tone
  • Leverage business acumen and/or in-depth knowledge of NFI business and the supply chain industry to generate and implement strategic recommendations
  • Manage, troubleshoot, and leverage technology, including NFI’s Google sites, HubSpot (email), goHappy (text), and UKG (CRM)
  • Support team in the execution of additional communication channels such as video, podcasts, public relations, and flyers.
  • Exhibit proficiency or willingness to learn in programs like Canva and Adobe Premiere to accelerate the completion of deliverables.
  • Collaborate with the Strategic Sourcing department and/or vendors to efficiently source and produce quality deliverables that meet budgets and timelines
  • Complete all tasks and special projects as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field required
  • Minimum of 3-4 years of relevant experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication, editing, and proofreading skills, as well as the ability to source stories from employees
  • Proficient in Google Workspace
  • Intermediate proficiency with Canva
  • Comfortable engaging with senior leadership
  • Superior listening and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external partners
  • Able to follow directions and perform work according to department standards
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Must be flexible, dependable, and self-motivated individual
  • Organized and detail-oriented
  • Superior time management
  • Customer-focused team player
  • Logistics experience, a plus
  • Bi-lingual with field experience, a plus
  • Experience in Adobe Premiere Pro, a plus
