About This Role:

The Veterinary Health Center (VHC) within the College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking Health Information Specialists to join our dedicated team to help facilitate exemplary patient care and quality customer service. While there are many responsibilities of someone in this role, this position is primarily responsible for assisting in the management of all medical records for the VHC. This position provides real-time auditing services, from standard daytime hours to afterhours and evenings, ensuring that all necessary information is present and accurate. This position will also serve as primary support for the hospital information system, Instinct, assisting students and staff as help and training are needed. Working hours for Health Information Specialists will include three evenings a week and rotating weekends. Excellent communication and organization skills are utilized daily as this position.

What You'll Need to Succeed:

Minimum Qualifications:

* High school diploma and one year of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Health Information, Data Analytics, or a related field.

* Advanced knowledge of medical terminology.

* Good public relation skills.

* Ability to organize.

* Training in general office practice.

* Accuracy in record keeping, filing, and retrieval.

* Experience with electronic medical records or practice management systems.

* Healthcare experience in veterinary or human medicine.
