Job Description

RESPONSIBLE FOR: At Coburn’s Exclusive, the Finisher is the person who ensures the projects are finished according to process standards, customer timeframes, and quality guidelines, all while adhering to safety regulations.

DISTINGUISHING FEATURES: The Finisher position differs from the Lead Finisher in that there are no supervisory duties or responsibilities. The Finisher is expected to have a more advanced proficiency with finishing equipment than the Jr. Finisher, and should be able to work independently, following Coburn’s Exclusive’s processes.

SPECIFIC DUTIES OF THE JOB:

  • The Finisher will finish architectural metal structures using solvents, powder coat, spray guns, and other instruments according to drawings and specifications in the determined time frame. It is expected that a Finisher of this class is able to move the structure through all stages of finishing, including pre-treatment, pre-baking, color determination, spraying, curing, etc. to the final stages of completion including packaging and labeling all parts, maintaining time constraints, quality standards and safety regulations.
  • The Finisher is able to read and interpret diagrams, sketches, and blueprints to determine proper finishes, required materials, and time frames for projects, with an advanced level of proficiency.
  • The Finisher should be able to use multiple finishing machines and tools. It is expected that a Finisher of this class is able to use and maintain all finishing equipment, and maintain all safety protocols, with an advanced level of proficiency.
  • The Finisher communicates supply and material needs to Lead Finisher.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL AND MENTAL ABILITIES: These functions are performed on a regular basis unless otherwise specified.

  1. Ability to sit, stand, grasp, type, stoop, reach, walk, push, and pull for sustained periods of time.
  2. Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  3. Ability to read, calculate, measure, plan, and compile information.
  4. Ability to investigate, organize, explain, and present information.
  5. Ability to effectively communicate in oral and written form in English on a daily basis.
  6. Ability to make rational decisions.
  7. Ability to accept direction and orders from supervisor and others in authority.
  8. Ability and willingness to accept and follow through on recommendations for improvement as a result of performance appraisal, monitoring, self-assessment, and daily supervision.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS RELATED TO WORKING CONDITIONS:

  1. Ability and willingness to travel on a regular basis to, but not limited to, local, state, and national destinations. Travel methods may include personal or company vehicle, box truck, airplane, or train.
  2. Ability to use your own vehicle for work related activities when company vehicles are not available.
  3. Ability to work and drive during periods of inclement weather.
  4. Ability to effectively interact and work cooperatively as a team member with people from a variety of socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds.
  5. Ability to work in a variety of environments including, but not limited to, workshops, offices, warehouses, storage units, box trucks and public places.
