Bridget Killen from Robert Half is actively seeking a qualified Student Financial Aid Advisor for a University near Salem, OR. As a Student Financial Aid Advisor, you will play a key role in counseling students and families on the financial aid process, policies, and programs. You will be responsible for assessing student eligibility, assisting with aid applications, and providing expert guidance to ensure students understand their financial aid options. The ideal candidate will have previous financial aid experience, a strong understanding of federal and state regulations, and a student-first mindset.

Responsibilities:

• Assist students in understanding and navigating financial aid processes

• Ensure strict compliance with institutional, state, and federal regulations related to financial aid

• Provide guidance to students on various funding options available to them

• Process financial aid applications with accuracy and efficiency

• Support students in effectively managing their tuition payments

• Utilize Epic Software and Banner for efficient processing and record-keeping

• Maintain strong client relations and provide excellent customer service

• Use knowledge of benefit functions and federal financials to aid in financial advising

• Commit to helping students achieve their educational goals by providing financial advice and support.

Requirements:

• Previous financial aid experience is required (minimum 2 years preferred).
• Strong knowledge of financial aid processes, including FAFSA, verification, and federal/state regulations.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to explain complex financial aid topics in a clear and student-friendly manner.
• A bachelor’s degree in education, business, or a related field is preferred.
• Familiarity with financial aid software systems (e.g., Banner, PowerFAIDS, or similar) is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
• Commitment to upholding a student-centric approach with empathy and professionalism.
