Summary:

Our client in the energy Oil & Gas industry requires a Finance Treasury Manager who will ensure the smooth operation of all financial activities, including the billing and settlement of both physical and financial trading operations, cash management, and margin and collateral administration. This role requires close collaboration with other divisions and company members. Additionally, the supervisor will lead in standardizing operations across commodities, developing proper documentation, including procedures, manuals, and protocols, and providing training and education for team members and other staff as necessary. Furthermore, this role supports the CFO by managing operational matters independently, including related systems, external portals, and coordination with banks and security firms.

Duties:

  • Conduct a thorough analysis of financial data, train direct reports in the Treasury role, and implement process enhancements aimed at optimizing financial costs, improving operational efficiency, and minimizing errors.
  • Oversee financial controls and compliance frameworks, ensuring adherence to internal policies, industry regulations, and audit standards.
  • Actively seek out opportunities to strengthen controls, mitigate risks, and enhance the efficiency of financial operations.
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop team members, ensuring they obtain the required skills and knowledge to proficiently manage settlement and finance operations.
  • Promote professional development to boost team competencies in transaction processing, reconciliations, and accurate financial reporting.
  • Facilitate cross-departmental coordination involving Treasury, Business Development, and Risk Management to develop, standardize, and automate operational workflows, while integrating process reengineering to enhance efficiency and scalability for both new and ongoing business operations.
  • Provide support to the Settlement team as required, acquiring the necessary knowledge and skills to contribute to settlement activities.
  • Oversee the energy commodity settlement team focused on Natural Gas and Power, including ISOs (ERCOT, PJM), Crude, and RNG/Biofuel, ensuring timely and accurate execution of monthly settlements and associated secondary expenses (transportation costs, brokerage fees, etc.).
  • Initiate activities in Cash Management, leveraging a comprehensive understanding of the standard payment terms for each commodity/counterparty, routine cash conversion cycles, and other cash requirements, while effectively managing the withdrawal and deposit of funds within in-house banking.
  • Administer cash and standby letter of credit collateral postings with exchanges/ISOs such as ERCOT and NGX in the most cost-efficient manner.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of Treasury experience is mandatory.
  • A solid understanding of cash flow management, liquidity planning, and treasury operations is essential to ensure that funds are available for financial commitments.
  • Previous experience with managing bank transactions, overseeing payment processing, and reconciling accounts to uphold the accuracy of financial records is required.
  • Familiarity with industry practices across various commodities (e.g., Natural Gas, Oil, Power, and related products), including knowledge of market structures, contract specifics, and the settlement process, is necessary.
  • Competence in designing and standardizing operational processes for new business initiatives, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure effective implementation.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, or a related field
