About the Role
The Company is seeking an Executive Director to lead its mission. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to educate and mobilize public sector workers, unions, and elected officials towards sustainable solutions. This role demands a visionary leader with a deep understanding of the public sector and a passion for the organization's mission. The Executive Director will work closely with the Board of Directors, be the public face of the organization, and be adept at external relations, including engaging with the media and building coalitions. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in leadership, management, and development, with the ability to influence and cultivate key relationships. They should be politically astute, experienced in coalition building, and have a strong background in the public sector, labor unions, nonprofit, or grassroots campaign management. Candidates for the Executive Director position at the company should possess a minimum of 10 years' experience in relevant fields and a Bachelor's degree, with a Master's degree being a plus. Essential skills include strategic vision, leadership, management, and external relations. The role requires an excellent communicator, inclusive and strategic in approach, with the ability to build consensus and credibility. The ideal candidate will be an innovative marketer, a team leader, and a team builder, energized by challenges and committed to excellence. They must be a charismatic self-starter with a strong work ethic, integrity, and the ability to operate in a highly political landscape. Responsibilities also include financial resource identification and diversification, as well as creating and managing budgets. The Executive Director will be supported by an Associate Director and a team of consultants, and will be responsible for determining the appropriate staffing model to meet the organization's objectives.
