Responsibilities

This position will focus on the development of content by editing existing content and writing new content that reflects Publishing’s strategic goals in all markets, including consumer, professional (treatment centers, K–12 educational settings, and correctional facilities), and trade. This position will be responsible for the planning, coordinating, and execution of product development projects.

  • Develop high-quality content, products, series, and ancillary extensions.
  • Conduct ongoing product research for trends, on a broad level, and products, on a focused level.
  • Oversee various administrative details for the editorial department, including contracts, profit and loss statements, copyrights, permissions, and author-related issues.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 3 years of content development experience (in-house, freelance, or a mix of both), with the ability to write and edit content for style, voice, usability, and age-appropriateness
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, especially expressing difficult/sensitive information tactfully

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience developing products specific to Hazelden Betty Ford’s markets
  • Instructional design experience
  • Familiarity with CMOS style
  • Experience developing products and services for digital delivery
  • Prior nonprofit experience
