Data Analyst

Requirements

The Data Analyst works with and assists the Clinical Research Coordinator, Regulatory Specialist, and Clinical Trial Manager by entering data into clinical trial sponsor system, as well as internal software. The Analyst works with the Clinical Trial Coordinator and Financial Administrator to ensure data between Georgetown GMS and clinical trial sponsor match, escalating necessary issues when discovered to the Clinical Trial Manager.

Primary duties and responsibilities include:
  • Develop an understanding of research processes and document business requirements of research processes.
  • Partner with clinical staff to help with the data requirements of research functions.
  • Create and document instructions for complex tasks so that other team members may reference as a guideline in the future.
  • Test applications to confirm intended functionality, as well as identify gaps, assisting with the creation of user training materials.
  • Document technical processes as needed and verifies that recommended solutions align with research requirements.
  • Develop an understanding of software development lifecycle methodologies, effectively communicating with customers, internal resources, and support teams to ensure objectives are met.
  • Collaborate with clinical and research resources to identify and develop process improvements, assisting with the testing and implementation of new system functionality.
  • Participate in cross functional teams to gather clinical and research needs in order to identify effective solutions.

Requirements and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Ability to communicate effectively and have the capacity to interact with a diverse community
  • Attention to detail with the ability work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Competence in using independent judgement and discretion in determining the best course of action
  • Strong knowledge and familiarity of Microsoft Office applications with the ability to work with large data sets
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
