Job Description

We are a 30-year-old restaurant located in Boulder, Co. We were born Italian, and over many years we have morphed into a Mediterranean Restaurant with a strong focus on Spanish cuisine. We are a neighborhood establishment with a 90% return clientele rate. Our customers know what they want and consider the restaurant one of their homes away from home. We are looking for a kitchen manager/head cook/chef. We have Chef Antonio, who is from Toledo, Spain. He creates the menu and daily specials but does not work the kitchen line; instead, he is the expo and manages the front of the house. We need someone with excellent cooking skills and great communication. Someone that can take Chef Antonio’s dish and create an outstanding presentation and execution multiple times throughout dinner service. A restaurant is only a dinner place, and we open to the public 5 pm – 9 pm. The staff gets to work at 4 pm and leaves after the last customer and clean up. This is an excellent opportunity for a leader to create their team while still enjoying the sunny days of Boulder before the shift. It also allows for a secondary day job if you have the energy for two-a-days.

HERE IS WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

Five nights a week minimum

A great organizer and cleaner

A great communicator (bilingual helps but not necessary)

Able to perform at a high level in stressful environments

Manager of inventory and kitchen staff

A badass cook.

Compensation will based on resume. The total hour per week is 35 -40 hours.

Responsibilities

• Oversee food safety handling and sanitation practices for kitchen staff
• Prepare dishes to customer preferences
• Plan and delegate food preparation and cooking tasks to the BOH team
• Train and develop cooks as needed

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail with exceptional organizational skills
• Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate the team
• Relevant food safety and handling certificate
• Experience as a chef is a plus
