Job Description

Chief Financial Officer (CFO) - Construction

Avid Associates is actively seeking an accomplished CFO with a minimum of 10 years of executive experience to become an integral part of our client's dynamic team. The successful candidate will be entrusted with oversight of all financial and accounting functions, including but not limited to Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, Reporting, and Construction Accounting for rapidly growing sub-contractor. This pivotal role requires an individual who can effectively manage daily operations while simultaneously crafting strategies to drive company growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage financial transactions, ensuring efficient processing of Accounts Payable and Receivable
  • Lead and mentor a team of five direct reports
  • Formulate and maintain a comprehensive set of controls designed to mitigate risk and enhance the accuracy of reported financial results
  • Guarantee compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
  • Coordinate the preparation of corporate annual reports and issue timely, accurate financial statements
  • Manage banking relationships and cash flow forecasting
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
  • Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a senior-level finance or accounting position
  • CPA certification is preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Proficient understanding of all functions within the accounting department
  • Well Versed in Sage 300 required
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to negotiate contracts and vendor terms
  • Experience with construction related managing cash flows and job costing activity
