Our Ed Tech team is looking for an Assistant Director who will be responsible for leading and managing our team of technology professionals in the application administration, application security, and software development lifecycle (SDLC).
The Assistant Director works on multiple, complex issues as a project leader and a subject matter expert in the Educational Tech area. Key activities include management and oversight of the full SDLC process within domain applications through intake, change management, training, and application administration and security. The Assistant Director will also play a key role in developing, defining, and driving the long-term strategy for the digital learning program. The Assistant Director will manage day-to-day operational activities for all applications/services in scope and escalate any issues related to services, vendor performance, and customer satisfaction. As part of the Ed Tech team, you will report to the director of IS&T Health, Faculty and Student Ancillary Applications and work with multiple units of BU Information Services & Technology at 930 Commonwealth Ave/remote/hybrid.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a team in the analysis and design of complex and diversified technology solutions, encompassing multiple programs and coordinating the work of other professionals inside and outside the organization.
- Manage issue resolutions of medium to high complexity that require demonstrated knowledge across multiple technical areas and business segments. Serve as the initial point of contact for most day-to-day vendor management and operational issues.
- Management responsibility and oversight. Lead a team of technology professionals including responsibility for recruitment, performance management, HCM system administration, for direct reports and training and career development. Act as coach and mentor.
- Maintain system platform and product functional knowledge. Incorporate cross-disciplinary business unit knowledge to support project and program objectives.
- Direct the process of maintaining and revising service documentation, knowledgebase articles, training tools, aggregation strategies and maintenance. Plans and coordinates skill and product-based training initiatives for technical resources.

Required Skills - Education: Bachelor's degree or relevant professional experience of 6-8 years in LMS platform administration.
- Experience:
- Educational Technology experience in Higher Education preferred.
- 6+ years working in an academic environment using digital instructional technology.
- Knowledge of/Hard Skills: Experience with PeopleSoft Student Administration Integration Pack (SAIP)
