Job Description

Job DescriptionThis position reports directly to the Dean of the college and is responsible to carry out the fiscal mission of the college and to ensure accountability, both in terms of revenue generation (e.g., tuition, grants and donations) and program expenses (e.g., salary and overhead), for the use of all resources. Responsibilities include monitoring and analyzing college budget; coordinating the schedules and work assignments of faculty and staff to optimize the balance of return on all allocated resources with program operations; coordinate and facilitate the development of both short and long term strategic planning, for college as they align with the university vision; recommending new initiatives to the Dean as they relate to resource management. Monitor and analyze schools financial resources; develop and implement budget methodologies, budget projections, analyze current budget policies and procedures within the college?s units and recommend improvements and/or changes to align with college and university mission; Represent the college on budget committees to assist the Dean to ensure that the college?s finances are continually monitored and strategically utilized.Serve as resource coordinator for all classroom, experiential and online learning activities; Collecting and analyzing program outcome and enrollment data in coordination with the department chair for use by the Dean to make programmatic decisions and enhance department decision-making including assuring that course offerings are in line with student needs. Review academic class and field experience schedules and make modifications as instructed by Dean; monitoring both past and current faculty workload and program enrollment in order to recommend modification of course offerings, staffing levels and organizational structure to the Dean; collecting faculty workload and student performance measures and providing summary reports to the Dean; and recommending procedural and practice changes and monitoring administrative workload within the college.Facilitate strategic planning on behalf of the college, including collecting and preparing all related documents around campus level, system level and professional accreditation requirements so that annual reports are completed and submitted on time; ensure that goals and objectives of college are appropriately aligned with resource allocation, assist with new program initiatives, and manage technology and facility needs of college.Monitor and analyze staffing and organizational structure, facilitating an effective hiring/evaluation process on behalf of the Dean, including following the hiring of adjunct, fixed term and probationary faculty plus any supporting positions to make sure all pre and post hiring documentation are in place and accurate, monitor Affirmative Action goals in hiring, ensure compliance with Unclassified appointment processes, monitor and facilitate all searches, so that well qualified faculty are hired and have available continuous professional development opportunities and all policies and procedures are followed, facilitate professional development efforts. Collect data and analyze faculty workload to inform Dean regarding staffing decisions.Other duties as assigned by Dean.Minimum Qualifications1 year of closely related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Doctorate degree may substitute for 2 years of experience, Master?s degree may substitute for 18 months of experience, Bachelor?s degree may substitute as 1 year of experience and Associates degree may substitute for 6 months of experience.Ability to analyze and interpret financial data, conceptualize and create new ways of presenting materials for improved management decisions.Knowledge of project management and research methodology: Ability to identify and clarify a problem or issue, prepare and execute a research design, interpret results and recommend actions based on conclusions.Strong computer skills, particularly for databases and queries. Skills needed are for spreadsheets and statistical analysis with a computer. Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
